Kyle Harder
Kyle Harder is a free-lance make-up artist, hair stylist and wardrobe consultant working in New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Her expertise developed over a decade of work includes traditional beauty, avant-garde artistry, bridal, special effects and full body art, hair and wardrobe. She has worked in television, film, advertising, print media, fashion shoots, solo and collaborative body painting, and personal service. She is the principal artist and founder of The Harder Group, a make-up, hair and wardrobe/fashion agency which represents a team of artists and stylists. She is a Pro Educator at TEMPTU. Her work is her passion and her talents have taken her all over the world.
Kyle began her career as a women’s wear designer while studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She won her first design competition while still in high school. She has worked in fashion design for such notable brands as Bill Blass New York, Rocawear and Thuy. After working in pure fashion design, she became the assistant to Broadway Costume Designer Andrea Lauer working on projects including “American Idiot”, “Tru”, “Bring it On” and the Joffrey Ballet. With her extensive background in fashion and costume design, she easily moved into wardrobe production, working on television and movie sets and personal Styling.
During the design and fashion phase of her career, Kyle developed a passion for the artistry of make-up and the creative challenges presented by the medium. She studied at Make-up Forever Academy NY where she learned traditional beauty, special effects and body art. Upon completing her certification, she began a free-lance career in make-up. She has worked as make-up artist, hair stylist and wardrobe on numerous television shows including “Duck Dynasty” , “Full Fontal with Samantha Bee” , and VICELAND’s “Business of Life” and on multiple films. She has worked in fashion, print advertising, commercials, bridal, as a personal make-up consultant and has collaborated with numerous photographers.
During her studies at Make-up Forever, Kyle developed a love of the creative artistry of full body art, winning second place in the 2012 Los Angeles International IMAT Beauty Fantasy competition. Her body art has appeared in Vogue and Cosmopolitan International, on Manhattan billboards and on Good Morning America. “I love to use the human body and face as a canvas to bring my creative vision of beauty and art to life. It is through make-up that I have been able to use all of my design skills and truly develop an art form.”
